Feedback From Artist

After we had created the pitch we text the artist who wrote the song to show our ideas and storyline to see if she liked it. Her feedback came back positive with certain ideas that she loved. Although we did not speak to her about the meaning of the song, we managed to create a meaning that is very similar to hers.

Moodboard

This is a moodboard that I have created basically summing up our music video and its theme and what it will include with pictures. The moodboard includes different locations that we are shooting at, main props that have a deeper meaning about them that are revealed in the music video and lighting that we will be incorporating into our video. The moodboard also shows inspiration from music videos and adverts and types of things it will include like suicide and parents arguing. This is a rough idea of the visual look of our music video.

Test Footage 2

Timeline

We created a timeline to help when creating our storyboard and anamatic. It also helped with the planning of the music video as it shows when different things happen at certain points throughout the song for our final music video. All shots are different lengths so we needed to plan how much time we wanted each shot to be and in what order to ensure that it made sense and was organised correctly.

Test footage- 1

This is my first attempt with editing the test footage. The storyline isn't clear at this point because we were focusing more of the camera effects and getting to grips with the actual shot types. The most effective shot type we used when shooting this was the blurred zoom. This is shown in the running shots where it interchanges from blurred close ups to focused long shots.

Slow visuals/ Fast Music

This is evidence that slow visuals and fast music can work and the contrast is actually very effective.

Walking through walls

This is an example of camera editing techniques they we may use in our music video. To test the effectiveness of this effect I filmed/edited a rough idea of what the outcome would look like.

Whip Pan And Passing Through The Wall

We decided to experiment with the advanced cinematography that is the whip pan. We wanted it to look like one person was doubled and having a conversation with themselves through the fast movement from side to side and same angles being used to make it look realistic. We then edited the clips all together cutting the bits out we didn't need to make it look like one flowing video of a person talking to themselves and this was our outcome. We decided to experiment with this to then see what we could or could not use to suit our music video. This would not work in our music video although it does look good it is not the type of shot we are looking to create.
