Characteristics- The music video is a workout routine for male and female
audiences.
There is a close
relationship between lyrics and visuals in the music video. “oh na na, look
what you done started” is the first lyrics in the song and in the video it
shows a well toned female in tight minimal gym clothes balancing with her legs
in the air. The lyrics and the visuals show his temptation.
In the first part of the video the visual relate strongly to the
music, for example when the music quickens the T initial changes to the beat.
There are a
large amount of close ups in the video to show the lip-syncing, emotion of the
artist and to develop the artists motif which occurs across his work. His motif
is that the duration of his videos are always in black and white.
There is frequent reference to the notion of looking in this video,
for example, mirrors and metal frame.
The
intertextual reference in this music video is to a new release in summer 2014.
The video for this song
is hyper-real, the visuals are extremely exaggerated and give a fake impression
of what happens at a gym.
