Potential Songs

These are three examples of music videos we've researched. The first video was found on a unsigned artist website and the other two were on soundcloud. After attempting to contact all three only one artist responded, Although we liked the artist above they already had a music video so we felt like they did not need a video recreated and as this video is to a high standard we would struggle to recreate it with a different meaning so we decided not to use this particular song.

The next song we looked at which we discovered unsigned.com were The colours with their song Tonight I let you go. We liked this song and the up beat tempo of it. This song did not have a video and we were interested in creating one for them as we felt like we could create a strong performance video for this particular song with shots of a band performing and singing. Although we struggled to understand some of the words they was saying on the song we felt like that was an obstacle we could easily work around. We also thought this particular song would be good for beat editing with fast cuts. We decided to get in contact with The Colours to ask for permission to create them a video for the song above. They failed to get back in contact with us meaning we did not have permission to use this song so we had to look again to find a new song to work with.

This is the email we sent them-

The final person we found, we knew personally who writes her own songs. We listened to her on Sound-cloud and found one that we both really liked and did not yet have a video for. We felt like we could get a good story line for this song as it had a strong meaning. We also wanted the challenge of rebranding this artist as someone different we got in contact with her and she gave us permission to use her song the stunt. Her name is Holly Hayes, she is in a band but performs this particular song alone on her guitar which we also thought we could include in the music video. So we decided this is the song that we would want to use for our music video as it has a lot of potential.
